There is a winter weather advisory tonight, so I will be cozying up, typing up this blog. There also remains research to work on for my first few posts which I am excited to share with whoever may stumble upon this blog.
Welcome to the Abyss.
I have little expectation of this blog reaching many folks, but great hopes in the reflection and outlet it may provide for me. Expect posts examining topics from a literary or varied cultural lenses, such as an exploration and argument against anti-urbanism through Hemmingway, Hobbes, and other influential writers; as well as an analysis on the cult of the aesthetic and the role it plays in our culture through the ozempedemic, Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, and writers like Jia Tolentino. I can’t promise to always take things super seriously or ramble, but I hope we can discuss these topics more in the comments. I’ll admit, these ramblings aren’t terribly important; the world will survive without them, however, it’s also fun to type up random monologues on the internet.
As for me, I’m not a person of any importance; I’m just hear to share my thoughts. Every so often, I will also post recommendations and resources for those interested in guides on books, language learning, and cultural points of interest.
As for you, perhaps ‘you’ is the abyss. If it is the abyss, Welcome. If it is a human, welcome,
Come on in, and let’s discuss…
